Hi! I'm Jen. Thank you for supporting my mission of feeding earth back to health. Earth Fairie food was officially birthed in 2022 and was inspired by my mother as well as my own health journey. I'm a plant-based ceremonial chef, a musician, an artist, a fairy, and a plant-medicine advocate.
My mother was a single parent to my brother and I growing up, she worked a lot so I learned how to cook my first meal at the age of ten. As long as I could remember, cooking always intrigued me but I never actually wanted to do it. My mom would occasionally cater for friends, family, her church, and parties. I was about fifteen when she started bringing me along and having me help her. I remember hating it sooo much as a teenager. How funny to see how things have switched. I'm doing the exact same thing now but catering for plant-medicine ceremonies. As i got older I learned how to cook with my intuition, not measuring ingredients, and getting more creative with my meals.
Most of my life I was eating a standard american diet which isn't as healthy as we were programmed to think. In 2015, I started getting rashes on my body and was diagnosed with Psoriasis. In 2018, the psoriasis spread to 80% of my body and i developed Psoriatic arthritis on my joints. It was the most painful period of my life. My skin cracked and bled daily. And my joints hurt while taking notes in my class and even opening a plastic water bottle felt impossible at the time. I was depressed, severely fatigued, anemic, and would easily faint if i did too much. For most of 2019 I was in bed 24.7.
During this time, I began to research natural remedies for my health issues. I came across an herbalist, Dr. Sebi, who healed a numerous amount of diseases through a specific plant-based diet. I studied a lot of his lectures and then connected with another herbalist who studied alongside Dr. Sebi in Honduras. He guided me through my very first thirty-day liquid fast, herbal cleanse, and introduced me to plant medicine. My skin immediately started getting better, my joints hurt less, and there was less fog in my mind. That's when I knew I couldn't go back to eating meat, dairy, or anything processed.
I started to realize the power was in the FOOD. I made major changes in my life style and daily routine after that first ceremony. I continued making more conscious decisions when it came to what I put in my body and I started advocating for people to be more mindful of the ingredients in their food. I'm still healing from these dis-eases but i'm healthier than i've ever been. in body. mind. and spirit.
At the time that seemed like the worst thing in the world, now I can see what a blessing in disguise it was. Getting ill didn't just show me pain, but gave me wisdom and empathy, and it guided me to my path and to plant medicine.
I can now see the bigger picture. This is my dharma, my souls calling. I am so grateful for every one of you who have supported me in any way. I love you - from the bottom of my big ass heart.
